Accessibility statement for Dan 24/7

This accessibility statement applies to the Dan 24/7 website: https://dan247.org.uk/
This website is run by BCUHB. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

For example, that means you should be able to:
• change colours, contrast levels and fonts
• zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
• navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
• navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
• listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand, without compromising the technical and sensitive nature of certain topics.

We’re continually working on improving accessibility on the website and acknowledge that there is always something that can be improved. Please get in touch and let us know if you have any feedback to share with us.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

BCUHB is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, with exception to a skip to main content requirement which is currently in development.

We are constantly working on improving the accessibility of the website and updating the intergration with the latest tools.

Non-accessible Content

Any non-accessible content has been listed below with an explanation. Please contact us with any questions or queries regarding these findings.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Skippable Header Content: Currently, there is no option to ‘skip to content’ in the header. We are currently working on adding this functionality, improving the navigation of the repeated content to allow you to skip to the main content on the page. This is currently being developed for the website.

Exemption

Screen Readers: We exempt the ability to use a screen reader that is technically unable to read a language other than the programmed language. For example, an English language only screen reader reading the Welsh content on the website may return errors if attempted. Screen readers reading in the programmed language will work on the website.

Disproportionate burden

Best endeavours have been made to test the website on a range of accessibility tools and applications. If any tool or application is found to not be compliant with any aspect of the website, please contact us with the information for us to investigate and rectify.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

We are developing the site to the required WCAG 2.1 AA level. No element is outside the scope of accessibility regulations.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are constantly working to improve accessibility on the website. If you have any concerns of suggestion, please contact us via the Feedback Form

We want accessibility to be a consideration with any development made on the website, making sure we avoid adding problematic functionality (such as working with PDFs).

We’re continuing to carry out regular accessibility audits and testing, as well as endeavouring to ensure the website works on a wide range of 3d party tools and applications.
