Fly agaric

amanitar-gwybed

The Fly Agaric mushroom (Amanita muscaria) is a species of magic mushroom native to the UK. It is the famous red and white mushroom familiar in fairy tales. Unlike the psilocybin mushroom (Liberty Cap), it must be prepared by partial cooking. Its psychoactive ingredients are muscimol and ibotenic acid which produce sedative, depressant, and delirious effects. It is illegal to produce, supply, or import under the Psychoactive Substance Act, but unlike the psilocybin mushroom it is not covered by the Misuse of Drugs Act, so possession is not an offence.
