Septicaemia

More commonly known as blood poisoning. It can result from needle sharing between drug injectors. It involves the rapid multiplication of bacteria in the blood. The symptoms include fever, chills, rapid breathing and/or headache and loss of consciousness. Septicaemia is always serious and can be life threatening.
