Serotonin

Serotonin (known as 5-HT) is a neurotransmitter found mainly in the intestines. Serotonin in the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) helps regulate mood, appetite, and sleep among other things. A number of drugs have an effect on the levels of serotonin in the brain.
