Shiatsu

shiatsu

A complimentary medicine sometimes practised with drug users, particularly heavy users of stimulants such as Cocaine and amphetamines. The word is Japanese for 'finger pressure'. The therapy is a combination of massage and pressure on the acupoints together with elements of physiotherapy. Western practitioners of Shiatsu would say that its therapies stimulate blood circulation and the flow of lymphatic fluids together with releasing tensions and toxins from the muscles. The overall feeling of well being and relaxation also has beneficial effects on the stressed and over stimulated.
