Tapentadol has been around for more than a decade on the UK street drug scene. It appears in various tablets and pills that are either foreign generic brands or illicit manufactured. It is also seen as an adulterant in other street drugs. Illicitly manufactured pills containing carisoprodol and tapentadol have also been seen in the UK street drug market and are known as ‘Red Apples’.
